A Fun-Packed Weekend?

Not really.

Luis' family will be descending upon us like locusts. Is this supposed to be thrilling, because I am missing the thrill, somehow.

I like Iggy and I love Anna and Kirk but it still means spending time with Luis Sr. How this can be a positive thing I cannot imagine. The man makes me crazy and now he has a whole weekend to ruin, and not just five minutes less than once a month. Although just knowing he lives with us is frustrating enough.

This is a family that was on Nanny 911 , the precursor to Supernanny , which airs on Wednesday nights. While Supernanny is a better production and leaves out some of the dopey American-isms of stupidity (such as the opening scene with a much older nanny head whose television showing the family and their issues turns around into a painting on the wall), this show has its value. These families are clueless or don't bother to try and definitely need help. This family is an exception in that the mother couldn't care less what the monsters do and will do anything to mollify them. I came across a perfectly horrifying post on FaceBook today, which - if you prefer to take part in this discussion, will need to read - so, sit down, make your butt comfy and here we go: "An Oklahoma House committee on Monday approved a bill taking aim at the new AP U.S. History framework, which conservatives have decried as unpatriotic and negative,  the Tulsa World reported . State Rep. Dan Fisher (R) introduced a  bill  at the beginning of the month that keeps the state from funding AP U.S. History unless the College Board changes the curriculum. The bill also orders the state Department of Education to establish a U.S. History program that would replace the AP course. Since the College Board released a new course framework for U.S. history in October 2012,  conservative backlash against the course  has grown significantly.
