Jackpot, Nevada

I've done nothing of any real value today, but some days are like that. I'm starting think I lead a boring life. Maybe I do... I suppose it has its dull moments.

I watched a couple of things, but I'm back to watching CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, the original show. I enjoy Gil Grissom, played by William Peterson, who has left the show. I also like Cameron Dye, who was in one episode, from the third season, called Jackpot. I decided to watch it, although I did begin the first episode on Disc Two of Season Three called Fur and Loathing. That was amusing enough to watch again.

I actually was delighted when this episode aired and I saw the name of Cameron Dye in the opening credits. I remember him from a favourite movies in the 80s called Valley Girl. Cameron Dye played Nicholas cage's sidekick in this movie and he was just adorable, so I was dying to see him around 20 years later. Maybe more. He is still good looking and plays an interesting character, the Sheriff of Jackpot, in this episode. I enjoyed it very much and he keeps showing up in other shows I watch as well.

Let's see what Wikipedia has to say. So far, I very rarely have been disappointed by Wikipedia.

"Cameron Dye: (born December 13, 1959) is an American actor. He played "Fred" in the movie Valley Girl.

Dye was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dye's family moved around the United States and in the mid 1970's he attended Sylvania High School in Sylvania, Ohio. Later, Dye moved to California and attended Mills High School in Millbrae, California and UCLA. He was married to actress Laura San Giacomo from 1990–1998."

OK, that was disappointing. Let's see what the link to Internet Movie Database gives me...

I think that information is incorrect. Leland Brooks was the brother of the Sheriff, who, if I'm not mistaken, was Lt. Alan Brooks. If there is one thing I know, it is episodes of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. I'll have to contact them to make the correction. Hey, don't post misinformation, right?

Wow, he's been in a lot of different shows.

Boy, did I call that wrong... apparently the guy that I thought was Cameron Dye was Henry Czerny. Well. He looks and sounds a lot like Fred Bailey, the character from Valley Girl. Oops.

Well.... maybe not, now that I've got images next to each other. Sorry, Cameron. You are both really good, but I ID'd the wrong guy. Don't I feel stupid. This doesn't change that Cameron Dye was just adorable in Valley Girl!
