A Very Pleasant Evening

I can't say much about it, but after a very fun and satisfying day at the Employee/Caddy Appreciation Day, there was a small get-together to celebrate a colleague's rise to a new position. I don't often feel inclined to hang out with coworkers, but the more practise I get, the easier it becomes.

I have no idea why I'm so ill-at-ease at these sort of soirées, but I am. It is downside, as I find myself going to the various events and then being very uptight and nervous and inevitably, when I do open my mouth to say something, it is the wrong thing. So I tend to become very quiet, and that makes others notice and I don't know - it is just bad all over.

But this night, I was more relaxed and more intune with the conversations. The ones I knew nothing about I did not involve myself with those. The ones I know very well, I say something to join the conversation, but I keep it short and simple.
And it is always good to be able to speak and joke freely wth the other executives, behaviour not often seen in the office - not that we don't joke and kid around with one another; but it is more refrained and not inappropriate.
All-in-all, it was nice: good food, good friends, good conversation.

Alot of people don't do well in those situations. Anything work related, even though it was a nice occasion, can be a little stressful.
Glad this get-together was nice for you.
