Saturday 9: That's What Friends Are For
1. Do you have a best friend? If yes, tell us about how you met and how long you have been friends.
Goodness, yes. My husband! Who isn't best friends with his or her spouse?
2. Over the years, how many people have you considered a “best friend”?
Three people, outside of Luis.
3. Who was your first “best friend”?
Michele Salinas. We were inseparable as little kids. Her mother was a terrible woman who was enormous and married a man who was apparently an alcoholic. Or maybe she was. Hard to remember this far back. We met when we were four or five. We were close friends until they moved to South Amboy. The move was too much, and she turned into a drug using girl who slept around way too young. I have no idea what has happened to her. Hopefully she got away from that life. I think most of us survive the teens, fortunately.
4. Every person you ask about lovers say, “I want a best friend”. Do you really think a lover can be a best friend?
Of course they can, why not? Sex is a component of life, not a single entity.
5. Have any of your lovers been your best friend (at the time)? If yes, tell us about one.
My husband. I suspect he is the most prime and shining example!
6. Have you ever mixed sex into friendship? If yes, what happened?
Well. I think you know the outcome!
7. What is your favorite song about friendship? Why?
I have a ton of favourite songs, many about friendship. It's very hard to list any one.
8. Name a celebrity you would like to be friends with. Why?
Martin Sheen. Alan Alda. Bono. The Edge. Larry Mullen. Adam Clayton. Why? They are all intelligent, forward-thinking people with great senses of humour.
9. Is your current best friend, the “best” best friend you have ever had?
Well, Harry Rainbow was but he has fallen off the planet. Luis is really my best friend.
