[01] How has Steve Jobs' affected your life and the products you use? It has had a huge impact on music, how easy it is to upload and use, an there is our Mac Mini that is hooked up to the living room telly. I'd love a Mac AirBook... but that is not an inexpensive model. I'd love to have an iPad II, but we shall see. Those are expensive, too. But think of the beautiful meld of technology, usability, and aesthetics that one gets with a MacBook or an iPad. What is that worth? What isn't it worth? Steve Jobs was a visionary. He was a technology guru with a flare for aesthetics. The world was rocked time and again by his inventions and visions brought to life. The world has just been rocked by the loss at age 56 of a man who brought magic to Pixar, to music lovers, to the world of technology users. He will be missed like no other.
 
[02] Have you ever had your email hacked? I haven't but I know a lot of people who have had that happen. I've usually found a way to let that person know about this and found a way to let them know nd get them to upgrade their passwords into something more difficult and secure.
 
[03] Have you ever done something radical to your appearance out of boredom? Sure. I don't know anyone who hasn't!
 
[04] How do you feel about Sarah Palin not choosing to run in the presidential race of 2012? Naked screaming relief. I'm told her advisors coach her on what to say, but she has proven to still be a complete and utter idiot. How does any American not understand the role of historical hero like Paul Revere, who quietly rode to houses along a route and let them know that the Hessians were coming. She had a totally different answer: He who warned, uh, the … the British that they weren’t gonna be takin’ away our arms, uh, by ringin’ those bells and, um, by makin’ sure that as he’s ridin’ his horse through town to send those warnin’ shots and bells that, uh, we were gonna be secure and we were gonna be free … and we were gonna be armed." Please don't let someone - ANYone - this abysmally stupid near the White House, please. Who needs another Dan Quayle or George W. Bush? Wasn't it enough that we had them?!
 
[05] Isn't this so incredibly cute? I assume you mean the little button graphic. Yes, it is! It's very cute. Where can I get one? I wanna cute button, too, dammit!

An Interesting Wife Swap...

I'm catching up on our Wife Swap recordings. I'm watching the epiode Burroughs/Padovan-Hickman one that aired on 17 April 2009. The one I watched just before was really quite satisfying - the families both learned a lot and seemed to really take it to heart. This one, however, is back to the familiar mold of putting families that are so totally diametrically opposite families together that they almost can't get along. This is interesting, though, because the Padovan-Hickmans have electricity but don't use it, don't flush often, go for a week without showering and then the whole family uses the same bathwater... I can see where that would be hard, especially for me in that I have very oily skin and hair and would look rather wretched after the next day. But the family themselves are very likable and fun, the father looks more like a kindly grandfather, but really is quite intelligent and pleasant. I would have trouble with the clean thing and I'd miss my iPod
